So what does everyone use for CT testing and what are their thoughts on it? I know for field testing we have gotten WECO Bantums and WE-30 that can do CT testing. For the in the shop we ended up purchasing an Omicron CT Analyzer. It is was smaller and easier to use than traditional CT testers. It needs an AC source but can be powered off a good size inverter so it is a semi portal tester as well.

Thus far our experience with the WECO products is limited because we haven’t put a field testing program for CTs in place yet but the shop testing has been going really well. At this point in time we only test low voltage CTs if they are used and going back out in the field. Anything for primary voltages we test in house before deployment. The CT Analyzer has been working so well for us and takes so little time that we are looking at possible bringing back sample testing of our low voltage population as well.
